Heidi & Ryan are two cool cats. I totally forgot how rad they both were til we met up for their shoot... nearly a year had gone by since their initial meeting. Heidi has this sassy confidence, with a dash of "tell it like it is", love it... totally a girl I could do to drinks with. Ryan is the perfect compliment, a mix of chill and restlessness. He also has a new found passion of photography, and it was great to talk a little shop with him. They've been together for 10 years, high school sweethearts, and have this deep loving connection that oozes from these photos. Their wedding is at the end of May, so you won't have to wait too long to see what greatness comes from their big day.

I really have to just let these photos speak for themselves. My former 2nd shooter, Miss Abby and her man, Erik, plus their new pup, Sweet Pea... and their gorgeous BLUE Bajaj Chetak Scooter... yeah, it was RAD to the nth degree (which my engineer hubby says is a lot!!).

We were a sight to see downtown Toledo. Me hanging out the back of my bright blue Honda Insight, absent-minded-ly shooting... totally forgetting that I was hanging out the back of a car... on the road, going the speed limit, whilst my hubby drove. Thank goodness we didn't get a ticket... Phil kept telling me that the horse police, who frequently gallop downtown, were going to get us. Whatever I have to do to get the shot! It was a blast. It was the perfect shoot to start this season. It was fantastic to see Abby & Erik who drove up from Georgia. Good times & high fives ;) all around!

I know I said I'd just let the photos do the talking... but I had to write a bunch to give them all time to load for you :)

I just finished up a new design that I had been working on since mid-summer for a new photo guest book sample. I used the amazing shoot I had in Seattle with Mary & Scott for the book, since it had more of a lifestyle session feel to it... props, action, playful. I encourage all couples who haven't done their engagement session yet to come up with unique ways to make the shoot more personal... props are an effective way to achieve that... sans balloons :)

One of the more popular add-ons couples choose to customize their wedding photography package with, is the photo guest book. I design the album with ample white space for guests to leave well-wishes and love for the newlyweds at the reception, and an ordinary coffee table book becomes a great memento of the time before the couple married. Oh and it's actually a guest book that you'll want to look at again!

I love the couples I was able to photograph in 2009... thank YOU for allowing me to do what I love! Thank you for trusting me to capture the most intimate and special moments in your lives. All of you are the ones who make me want to challenge and push myself further out of my comfort zone with every shoot. It is truly impossible for me to express in words how lucky I feel to have the clients that I do, you're all amazing people.

Here's to 2010!!!

Brittany and Chris both have this great positive energy, down for anything attitude. When I suggested doing their shoot in a very nontraditional location, they were totally down... and thank goodness. The weather was in the 30s, super windy, and they were rockstars about it! I am beyond stoked for their wedding at Maumee Bay!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!! Full of lots of laughs + food + all around good times with loved ones.
