Every once in awhile I get asked to photograph private parties… It’s relaxing & a nice change of pace to document parties in a photojournalistic style. Waiting for laughs & focusing on moments, as well as, preserving the beautiful details. Brittany at Crowning Celebrations designed a gorgeous tablescape for a bridal shower at Toledo Museum of Art Glass Pavilion. Pink with gold accents, succulents by Bartz Viviano & vintage gold flatware.
Congrats to the couple getting married this fall!

It’s good to have a folder in your Inbox called ‘models’. Kerri’s husband works in a rad building on University of Toledo’s campus and thought it would be perfect for portraits! Shannon and Craig are always up for photos, I photographed them a couple years ago, so we were pumped that they were available! They will have been married 5 years this fall, perfect reason for updated pictures of this lovely couple! Bonus that we visited yet another modern building in Toledo!
The Toledo Instagrammers organized photo meet ups on Toledo’s big 419 Day & starting at 7:30 am out at Oak Openings, a favourite spot of the Instagram community out here. We packed up the kiddies & headed out the door at 7am. It was a gorgeous morning & great to put so many names to Instagram handles. If you haven’t been out to Oak Openings, it is a truly magically park… The trees lined up too perfectly.

I have my family portraits taken often enough to know that figuring out what to wear for photos is extremely stressful… Or maybe I’m just neurotic :) My favourite source for finding inspiration for outfits is Polyvore! People, far more fashion forward than myself, put together full outfits, shoes & accessories included. From there you can find links to purchase that exact outfit… Or just use it as inspiration & see if there is a similar, more affordable option…since they’re often high end designers.
Mixing colors, patterns & textures makes for visually interesting outfits. Don’t match, compliment. Look as though you’re going to the same event. I love when couples dress really casually… like they’re going to the Farmer’s Market together or a cookout at a friend’s home.
So next time you’re about to have a meltdown before your engagement shoot… Pop over to Polyvore & rely on someone else’s stylish eyes to figure it out for you!
Here’s some inspiration from a few stylish MWP couples…
Hard to believe another year has flown by & I’m pulling my favourite images from the year! 2013 was a year full of growth… photographing births, small businesses, commercial campaigns & of course weddings. Each of those so different from one another on the surface, but really when looking through the photos as a whole, they all feel so similar. People having fun, great energy! We have a ton of fun while on shoots, connecting with the people who photograph, no matter what the subject matter. Always humbling to look back & see the moments we were able to capture for the people who trusted us to be there for the biggest moments in their lives. THANK YOU!
Cheers to 2013!

Things have been busy, busy @ MWP the past couple of months!!! We moved into a new amazing studio full of natural light, giving us the opportunity to have a rad space to shoot boudoir portraits in gorgeous natural light which yields the most amazing photos… skin looks amazing lit by windows!
I’ve been photographing boudoir portraits for 5 years & absolutely love it! It’s a total blast & it brings out this confidence in the women that I photograph that is amazing to see. By the end of each session, there is a sense of empowerment & it really is a great confidence builder… bonus that is also makes the perfect gift for significant others!
So depending on when I birth this baby, how I feel & if I want to separate from my new love, I would love to be able to get a marathon session in sometime in January to provide the perfect Valentine gift! I’ll be posting details on our Facebook page… if it works out- timing wise.
Here is a sampling of the portraits we captured this past Tuesday with our 3 real life models. Makeup done by my favourite makeup artist Carl Graf!
