On NYE, Whitney & Jon had an intimate ceremony with their immediate families and closest friends. When an adorably in love couple like Whitney & Jon tie the knot on New Years Eve it is a no brainer to enjoy the last day of the year with them! They kept their wedding day beautifully simple: quick ceremony reading their vows which melted everyone’s hearts, family portraits, TWO HOURS of creative portrait time (a dream!!!), and an amazing meal at Element 112
Whitney & Jon live downtown Toledo and Whitney has been crushing on the peeling pink paint on this (seemingly) abandoned building for quite some time. When we met over the summer, she knew she wanted wedding photos taken with it… I knew exactly which building she was referencing- I had my engagement photos taken there 11 years ago. My kind of couple! Digging the quirkiest building in the warehouse district. We popped over to a few other diverse locations to give them a variety of looks.
It was refreshing to have a 4 hour work day and know their wedding album will look fantastic and feel whole. Biggest congrats you two!!!Your good vibes & loving energy made me forget the champagne chilling.

Catie & Bryan originally planned a big wedding downtown Toledo with over 150 guests. After Save the Dates went out, they decided that a big wedding just wasn’t them and it didn’t make sense to do it just because it was the norm. They emailed me with the change of plans and was down for a low key wedding to photograph instead.
While I know I wouldn’t be able to make a living at photographing 4 hour weddings full time, having one every once in awhile is refreshing and puts in to perspective the simplicity of what the day is really about.

Katelyn & Alex celebrated their wedding day during the holidays and I tell you what, if you’re going to do a winter wedding, do so while the cities are still lit with string lights! While it was freeze raining during their creative portrait time, I was geeking out that we had wet roads reflecting the lights adorning Downtown Sylvania. It was dreamy.
I met with Jon + Mandy about 1 1/2 years ago and when they told me they were best friends with one of my favourite 2012 couples I got giddy… that whole, birds of a feather thing ;) They are kind, warm, gentled hearted, I’ve observed their soft spoken admiration and love for one another which was a joy to document. We explored Belle Isle in Detroit for their creative portraits, a location that is close to their heart and originally they planned to marry there. I was overjoyed to have my photog pal Noelle shooting with me & Detroit native, Beka, assisting me. It was a great close to our busy fall season. I love the soft, airiness to these images. It was a lovely day! Congrats to Mandy + Jon!!! I can’t wait to show you the whole collection of photos!!

From the very moment I met Michelle and Ben, I wanted to be their wedding photographer! They have a warmth and friendliness that draws people to them – and that was never as apparent as on their wedding day. Surrounded by people who love them, Ben and Michelle genuinely appreciated every guest and probably could have spent half an hour with each of them! Michelle’s dress was ahhhmazing… she found it online and threw Ben off when he said he was concerned for possible wedding day rain & her train getting damp ;) The ceremony at Wildwood, officiated by a family member, was the perfect blend of romance and joy. I could have spent all day photographing the two of them, as they were absolutely adorable together, but the party had to start sometime! Registry Bistro was rocking with Michelle and Ben’s perfect choice of wedding bands. The dance floor was packed, the couple was glowing, and I was thrilled to have been there.
It was a joy & an honor to be your photographer and get to know you both a bit. You are beautiful inside + out and have a deep love that made it easy breezy to photograph.

When a couple can be adorable + cuddly at a sunrise engagement session, I know their wedding day will be a breeze. Dana + Aaron passed that challenge with flying colors ;) Their wedding took place at Dana’s parents home which sits on several acres, so much rustic character, personal touches & emotion made their day one I will never forget. They both welcomed the emotions, let it wash over them, take it in & enjoyed every single second of how special it is to have the most important people surrounding you for one fantastic day.
Lauren and Brodie were the last of my September weddings, a month that had bookend perfect weather days and in the middle a bit more damp than we all would had preferred.
Most of the day was an ode to their hometown of Perrysburg. Lauren dressed at the darling Guesthouse downtown Perrysburg, a location I would highly recommend to anyone being married at Saint Rose! Their setup is top notch and much more photogenic the the beautiful Saint Rose basement location where my past bride’s had gotten ready. Lauren’s first look with her father gave us all goosebumps, a moment that makes me wish for a daughter for my husband. It is such a special bond & I adore when we have the chance to capture it.
A traditional Catholic ceremony was held at Saint Rose in Perrysburg… Brodie saw his wife to be for the first time as she walk down the aisle hand in hand with her father. The church is one of my favourites to photograph in. It is lit perfectly & makes for dramatic yet airy ceremony images.
The sunshine, blue skies & perfect amount of warmth hugged us all as we took to downtown Toledo for creative portraits. I was so very excited for the two of them not to have to worry about weather. I couldn’t contain my excitement to have not a cloud in the sky.
Registry Bistro hosted their reception… we have been there several times and it so cool to see how each couple uses the unique space to tailor it to their style and personalities!
Biggest congrats to Lauren + Brodie! Their warmth and gentle nature was fantastic to document. They both had a calmness the whole day, which is rare and set the tone to what the day was really all about. :)

Kait+Pat’s mid century modern wedding at Toledo Country Club had me so very humbled to have made the cut! Bee for the Day made everything run smooth. Bartz Viviano outdid themselves with beautiful succulent planters with bright tropical flowers that made me wish I knew how to keep such lovely things alive in my own home. AND my girl Aimee at Modernly Events brought in pops of vintage decor, aqua + teak & all sorts of mid century modern goodness! Oh my EAMES ;)
