I love weddings that represent to a tee the couple's personalities.  Jessica and Keith are super sweet, polite, and genuine, and their wedding was just as classy as they are.  They gave me more time for photos than I knew what to do with, but I seemed to manage.  It was an amazing day.

I had never been to Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown for a wedding, had heard good things, but didn't know what to expect... well it was frickin gorgeous and exceeded my expectations.  Around every corner there was grand columns, dramatic windows and staircases... it made for super cinematic photos. Oh and their reception details were fabulous... I adore tall centerpieces... they make such a difference in creating a romatic mood.

Oh yay! I've been waiting for these. Isn't Stambaugh incredible!? I always love to see other photographers "take" on the places I've been. You did not disappoint! :) Great eye. I especially love the one of the bride and groom with the columns! Beautiful images Mary! Glad you liked what you saw of our fair city. If you're every here something other than a wedding be sure and let me know!
Cheers,

One of the many things I love about photographing weddings, is traveling.  It doesn't have to be to places extremely exotic or glamourous, I love seeing all the podunk towns across Ohio... places that have a ton of character that is probably overlooked by it's residents.

Trinda and Bret live in Van Wert Ohio, a small town near the Indiana border and I had no idea what to expect.  I was pleasantly surprised by this little gem.  The 'downtown' area was frickin perfect for my style. Color, rust, and weeds make me happy.

Enjoy.

Mary, As mother of the bride, and a country girl myself, I really had no idea what kind of pictures you would have for Trinda and Bret. WOW ! I was so amazed with the ones you took. Van Wert really has some unique spots for photos. I loved her photo albums, you are fantastic. Thanks for making their day so special and one they will always remember.

I love color.  I love going to Lowes and standing in front of the paint swatch displays and just staring.  I love neon lights, and what long exposures do to the colors.  When it came time to do Heather & Andy's engagement shoot I suggested going to the county fair... I thought it would be fun and colorful... totally different atmosphere then the normal engagement shoots I do.  Thankfully they agreed that it could be fun, and I love the photos we took.  We had a blast people watching , talking and laughing.  Good times :)

In the past 3 months I have done 12 engagement shoots... trying to keep each one of them visually unique from one another used to be a stress in my life.  I would freak out when looking at my calendar, trying to figure out what new location I would go to.  As we all know, Toledo isn't that big of an area and doesn't have too many super cool spots that we can just go to a new one every time.  Instead, I challenge myself to go back to spots I have already gone to and attempt to shoot it with fresh eyes.  So back to Grand Rapids, the hometown of Julie + Rolando.  They said their friends were surprised that they'd be doing their shoot near home, but I assured them that they would look at their city in a whole new light....

On Saturday, Liz and Ian were married.  During their engagement session Liz told me about some of the wedding details, and once she said bright blue bridesmaids dresses... I knew I was going to have fun photographing their wedding.  They're super sweet together and were totally trusting of my ideas... thanks for that!
